Spearfish Canyon Brown Trout Bench
Every year I drive with my Mom, now 85, from Indiana where I grew up, to Bozeman, Montana. I always choose different routes along this journey so that we may share the experience and witness the natural beauty and spirit of this magnificent land. In May, we journey through the Spearfish Canyon in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Our lodge there rested on the crystal clear creek that runs the length of the canyon. It was there that I found my muse: a beautifully spotted brown trout feeding along the sandy bottom.
This bench represents a special memory that I shared with my mother, and one that intends to convey the simple beauty of a place that is teaming with life and is known to draw a lasting connection to all who visit. This spirit of intent is what Bridger Home is all about.

Leg styles may be steel or live edge walnut as illustrated here.

Leather Notes & Care
Each bench is hand dyed and painted on Natural Vegetable tanned leather with special leather paints. It then receives two applications of Resolene, a flexible leather sealant designed to allow slightly damp cloth cleaning and it provides some UV protection.
A Note about Natural Leather: Natural leather is subject to natural aging and slight darkening over time. The bench colors will mellow a bit, over the course of a year, to a rich patina. It is advised to keep benches away from direct sunlight, as UV light will darken the leather beyond it's normal expectation and dry the hide.
Cleaning: Occasional dusting with microfiber cloth is recommended.
Should your bench need cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with water to wipe clean. For deeper cleaning, saddle soap would be safe and recommended.
